Number One: Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs came into the NFL in 2015 as a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings after a solid college career at Maryland where he hauled in 150 receptions for 2,227 yards and 18 total touchdowns.

A few seasons later, Diggs has shown his displeasure with the Minnesota Vikings and has demanded a trade. He feels that Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins doesn’t target him enough and wasn’t pleased with the run-heavy offense. That quieted down with the victories that poured.

More from Who Dat Dish

When asked about the situation, Diggs replied “there’s truth to all rumors” then declined to go into details. Despite Vikings general manager Rick Spielman wanting Diggs to stay, he may still want out.

Diggs is coming off another good year, logging 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. In his career, Diggs has 365 receptions for 4,623 yards and 30 touchdowns while being one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the entire NFL.

The New Orleans Saints need a dominant wide receiver alongside Michael Thomas, and Diggs could most definitely be that answer. Diggs still has three years left on his contract and would not just be a short term solution for the Saints. However, he would command quite a bit of the team’s cap.

Having Michael Thomas and Stefon Diggs would help ease the pain of whatever quarterback replaces Drew Brees following the 2020 season. There’s no doubt that Diggs is a playmaker; the Saints should go after him while they have the chance.
