Drew Brees

Drew Brees is an important part of the New Orleans Saints roster and has been for over a decade. This year, nothing is changing except for the fact that the Saints need to address a new contract for the future Hall-of-Famer.

Brees announced last month that he is excited about the new season and ready to get back to work. He also made a statement that said he wouldn’t want to play with anyone outside of the black and gold he is currently wearing.

Unfortunately, those two statements don’t automatically make a contract. The New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees still need to settle on a number of years and a final number that Brees would accept to come back.

He is already owed over $20 million in dead cap space from the Saints. His contract should be made in light of this fact. In a perfect scenario, Brees signs a two-year, $30 million deal or somewhere around there.
