Number Two: San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are on this list mainly because they were the NFC Champions in 2019 and fell short to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Aside from the three teams in the Saints’ division (Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers), the 49ers are probably the Saints’ biggest opponents in 2020. The Saints are set to host the 49ers in New Orleans in 2020, raising the stakes of this offseason even more.

If the 49ers get aggressive this offseason, the Saints will also have to get aggressive because the Saints have to get through San Francisco to get to the Super Bowl.

The Saints also want to keep an eye on the 49ers this offseason because they have their eyes set on Emmanuel Sanders in free agency. Sanders could decide to stay in San Francisco, but recent reports state that the 49ers are more concerned with locking up defensive players.

If Sanders tests the market, I fully expect the Saints to attempt to pry him away from San Francisco.
