Chris Carson, RB, Oklahoma State

Finally, with the 196th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected a defensive end from Miami. Al-Quadin Muhammad is the only player out of the original Saints draft class not to be currently with the team.

Since drafting Alvin Kamara, the Saints have bounced around with backup running backs Mark Ingram and Latavius Murray. Chris Carson was drafted with the 249th picks to the Seattle Seahawks from the Falcons.

Carson could have solidified the backup role in New Orleans. He has bounced between starter and backup with Rashaad Penny in Seattle. The Saints could have used him as another cement piece for logistical purposes.

The 2017 NFL Draft was one of the best in New Orleans Saints history and it could have been even that much better. These selections would have given the Saints the best opportunity to succeed in the future.
