Shaquill Griffin, CB, UCF

The New Orleans Saints originally drafted Alex Anzalone, a linebacker from Florida University, with this pick. While that was not a bad pick, looking back, there could have been better selections that the Saints could have made with this pick.

For example, Shaquill Griffin. Anzalone has played a role position for the majority of his time with the Saints and that is when he is not injured. Anzalone missed most of the 2019 season due to a lingering injury.

The Saints could have gone with another receiver in Chris Godwin or another running back in Kareem Hunt with this pick which both would have been stellar performers with the team, but I feel a cornerback would have been a better fit alongside Lattimore.

In three years, Griffin has 186 tackles, three interceptions, eight passes defended, one sack, and one quarterback hit in three years. He has also shown durability starting almost every game possible in those three years.
