T, Andrus Peat

Andrus Peat is set to be another casualty of the salary cap. The tackle is breaking free from his rookie contract and is going to be in high demand for what tackles are worth. Therefore, the Saints are going to be forced to let him go.

However, that might not be all that bad of a thing. They have young guys coming up that could potentially take his place. They also have the NFL Draft to work with to find a replacement at a cost that will be less than him.

Peat also had injury problems and concerns that year that may not warrant the New Orleans Saints wanting to put a long term contract to his name. The best thing for both sides to do is to mutually part ways.

A lot of preparation and research goes into deciding who to pay and who inevitably had to be let go. It is never an easy sight to have to let a player walk away, but in a tight salary cap, each contract means a great deal.
