S, Vonn Bell

Vonn Bell is a fantastic safety. However, the New Orleans Saints have to look farther than just this year. Not to mention, they have 24 free agents that they are trying to hold on to or replace in the same process.

Next year, Marcus Williams will also be a free agent and expect roughly the same if not more than the current safety free agent Vonn Bell will be asking for. The former Buckeye might just find himself and expendable part of this year’s offseason.

While Chauncey Garder-Johnson is better in the slot, he is still a viable, young replacement for Bell who will be breaking free from his rookie contract and wanting to be paid what he is actually worth. You can’t fault the guy for that.

The fact of the matter is, the Saints just don’t have the money that Bell is worth, especially putting into perspective that next year they would have to turn around and do the same thing. It will be easier to find a cheaper replacement in the Draft.
