QB, Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill has been one of the biggest talking points for the New Orleans Saints this offseason outside of Drew Brees. Hill wants his chance to be a starting quarterback in the league, even if it takes him from the Saints.

However, Hill is not an unrestricted free agent — he is restricted. Therefore, if a team wants to offer Hill a contract, first of all, the Saints have the right to match that contract to keep Taysom Hill in New Orleans.

But that is not all, Hill will most likely be a first-round pick tender. That means that if a team gives Hill a qualifying offer that the Saints don’t want to match, the Saints will get that team’s first-round pick in exchange for them signing Hill.

I think that the New Orleans Saints would match the offer anyway as long as it is a reasonable offer. However, I don’t think many teams will be interested in Hill for the loss of a first-round pick, especially to be their starting quarterback.
