In an article by ESPN’s Ben Linsey, he predicts the all 32 NFL teams perfect matches when it comes to Free Agency, even the New Orleans Saints.

ESPN Insider released an article predicting the top free-agent talent that would be a perfect match for the New Orleans Saints and the needs that they have. According to Ben Linsey, the Saints’ perfect match is Cowboys star, Randall Cobb.

When discussing the Saints’ needs, Linsey puts into perspective the cap situation in New Orleans and that is going to hinder their outreach into free agency. They owe a lot of people, a lot of money and have 20+ free agents of their own.

Therefore, they will be looking to mesh the perfect combination of price and skill level and that is what the 29-year-old brings to the table. Here is what ESPN’s Ben Linsey (subscription required) had to say about the match between Cobb and the Saints.

"Drew Brees is returning for the Saints in 2020, and that means their passing offense should once again be expected to be among the best in the league, headlined by Brees’ connection with the reigning receptions-in-a-season king Michael Thomas. The Saints need another reliable wide receiver option outside of Thomas, however. Cobb is coming off his best season since 2016 with the Cowboys this past season. His profile meshes with the quick passing game Brees and the Saints favor, and he’ll come cheap — something that is necessary given the cap situation in New Orleans."

That fact of the matter is that Tre’Quan Smith, Ted Ginn, and Keith Kirkwood are not getting the job done. They need new talent to step in and be that No. 2 receiver that the New Orleans Saints have been so desperately seeking for a couple of years now.

Cobb is coming off of his best year with the Cowboys last year. He caught 55 receptions for 828 yards, and 3 touchdowns with a running quarterback in Dak Prescott and a run-heavy team with Ezekiel Elliot behind the reigns.

Imagine what Cobb could do with one of the best quarterbacks in the nation behind him. His best season came in 2014 when he was a Pro-Bowler with Aaron Rodgers. He caught 91 passes for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He has proven that he has that type of talent in him, he just needs the right quarterback and offense to bring it back out. That is why Cobb and the New Orleans Saints would be a match made in heaven. They just have to make it happen.
