Ranking the New Orleans Saints top five offseason needs
The New Orleans Saints are coming off another tremendous season where the team won their division and made the playoffs.
An early exit in the playoffs left the New Orleans Saints with the number 24 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a good bit of optimism for the future; however, the doubts about the team’s last few playoffs runs will linger.
The Saints have 20-plus free agents to make decisions on this offseason and the team will be slapped with an additional 20-plus free agents set to hit the market in 2021.
Thankfully, for Saints fans, the 2020 NFL Draft is very deep and arguably one of the most talented drafts we have seen in a while.
It comes to no surprise that the Saints will need to be smart in regards to the draft and who they ultimately decide to acquire in free agency, and given their recent history, it’s likely they will be.
The Saints, just like every other NFL team, have their needs they must address in the offseason if they plan on attempting one last ride with future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees at the helm.
Some needs are glaring such as wide receiver and linebacker. Other needs aren’t as obvious yet could have side effects that span almost half a decade. That said, let’s breakdown the five biggest needs the New Orleans Saints have prior to free agency 2020.
