Chase Daniel knows the system.

Out of Chase Daniel’s ten years in the NFL, he played four of them with the New Orleans Saints. He played sporadically with the Saints from 2010 to 2017, the first three years of his career in the NFL were with the Saints. He basically learned to play with Sean Payton already.

He played with the Kansas City Chiefs after he left the New Orleans Saints from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, he played that season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He went back to the Saints in 2017 on a one year deal with the team.

After one year, he left and went to Chicago where he has been since 2017. Daniel has been a career backup for the most part even starting off his career backing up Drew Brees. He has never started more than two games in a season.

Because of the fact that he knows Sean Payton and Drew Brees so well, there is no doubt in my mind that Chase Daniel wouldn’t come into New Orleans and fit right in. That is part of what makes him the best backup to replace Bridgewater.
