With quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s departure imminent, the New Orleans Saints are going to need a new back up quarterback for the 2020 season.

For the New Orleans Saints, none of their 2019 quarterbacks are currently under contract with the team. This has been the talk of the team since the beginning of the offseason after the playoff loss a couple of months ago.

Drew Brees is an unrestricted free agent. He has stated that he is coming back to the Saints, but he is still yet to sign a contract with the team. Because of that fact, there is a good chance that that will solidify the departure of Teddy Bridgewater.

After last season when he stepped in for Drew Brees and went 5-0, he proved that he has what it takes to start on a team. Because Brees is going to end up being the Saints’ starter, Bridgewater will likely search for a bigger contract elsewhere.

That means that the New Orleans Saints are going to be in the market for a backup quarterback for Drew Brees. Taysom Hill, who will likely be re-signed, only threw for three completions last year which is not backup quality.

However, Chase Daniel can be the backup quarterback that the Saints are searching for and here’s why.
