The New Orleans Saints are looking to bring in some big names during the free agency period, but could the salary cap get in their way?

The NFL Free Agency period is just a few weeks away and all the teams, especially the New Orleans Saints, are eyeing down who they are going to try and sign to fill gaps in their own teams come to the start of the new NFL season.

There are several big names on the market this year including New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees, New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady, Los Angeles Chargers’ quarterback Philip Rivers, and Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver AJ Green.

The only one expected to see the franchise tag is Green.

The biggest obstacle for the New Orleans Saints getting in the way of signing big-name talent is the salary cap. The Saints always tend to push the money all the way to the top and spend more than they should on players.

With 20+ of their own free agents to worry about, they won’t have enough money to sign some of the big names out there. Here are three free agents that are just outside of the New Orleans Saints budget when it comes to staying under the salary cap.
