Cam Phillips: Houston Roughnecks

Cam Phillips is a six-foot, 201-pound wide receiver who currently plays for the Houston Roughnecks.

Phillips, 24, played his college football at Virginia Tech where he hauled in 236 receptions for 3,027 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 37 times for 239 yards. Phillips has been tearing up the XFL so far.

PJ Walker’s favorite target has 20 receptions for 324 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging out to 16.2 yards per catch. Phillips’ breakout season has helped lead the Houston Roughnecks to a 3-0 record to start the year.

Phillips also has a small sample size in the NFL.

Phillips played for the Buffalo Bills in 2018 hauling in one reception for nine yards. He has proven he can play at a high level and I’m sure the interest level from NFL general managers are high right now, especially for the Saints who need help at receiver.

The New Orleans Saints should, at the very least, take a look at him. Adding a speedy wideout like Cam Phillips to an offense that has a lot of young talent already in Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Tre’Quan Smith would be difficult to stop.
