Number Five: Patrick Robinson

The Saints need to free up some cap space this offseason, and in order to do that, they will need to release some veteran players.

Patrick Robinson is a 32-year-old cornerback who has two more years left on his contract. The Saints could free up about four million dollars in cap space by releasing Robinson.

Robinson is rarely used on the Saints.

He had just 15 tackles in 2019 while playing a minimal 16 percent of the total defensive snaps on the season. Patrick Robinson is a fan favorite due to the fact that he was drafted by the team in 2010, but there’s just no need to keep a 32-year-old cornerback who is rarely used anymore.

That’s why there’s a draft.

Next. 3 wide receivers the Saints should consider drafting. dark

The Saints need to use their money wisely and it would be smarter to re-sign a far more productive cornerback in PJ Williams than it would be to keep Robinson around.
