March 18 at 4:00 pm New York Time

March 18, 2020, is one of the busiest days at the beginning of the offseason. The first thing that happens is that it will be the deadline for the New Orleans Saints to exercise all team options for the 2020 season in players 2019 contracts.

The second thing that happens is it is also the deadline for the New Orleans Saints to submit qualifying offers to their Restricted Free Agents with expiring contracts to retain a Right of First Refusal/Compensation.

The biggest RFA for the Saints is quarterback Taysom Hill.

2019 will come to an end with its player contracts and the new NFL season will officially begin at 4:00 pm EST on March 18, 2020. With the new NFL season, at the same time, opens the free agency period for the New Orleans Saints as well.

The New Orleans Saints have a lot of free agents and this time period will determine much of how the next season will look. They will also have the option to start talking to other teams free agents and offering contracts to those players.
