Re-sign linebacker A.J. Klein

A.J. Klein spent the first half of his career as a dud with the Carolina Panthers. When he was acquired by the Saints in 2017, Klein’s career took a turn in the right direction and subsequently went off for the Saints.

In 2019, Klein posted career highs in sacks, interceptions, (one shy of tackles), and quarterback hits. He has progressively been getting better and better the more time he has spent with the New Orleans Saints defense.

The Saints are already losing his backup Stephone Anthony; therefore, they need to make it a priority to lock up the linebacker to a long term contract. However, it has to be for the right price for the market value.

Right now, Klein is coming off of a $6 million contract. He needs to sign a relatively similar or less contract to make the Saints team actually work. They will need to bring on more pieces, hopefully, they can get Klein at the right price.
