Draft a Quarterback

While Drew Brees has stated that he is coming back for the next season and also stated that he will only play for the black and gold, they will still lose Teddy Bridgewater as their backup. Brees only has one, maybe two, years left in him.

They need to start developing a franchise quarterback to take over for Drew Brees. The NFL Draft is a great place to find that replacement. Especially in this year’s draft, there are a plethora of talented quarterbacks that could be taken in the third or later rounds.

The first of the two I would like to see the Saints get is Jalen Hurts. Hurts was a very mobile quarterback in Alabama and changed more to a passing quarterback in Oklahoma. He has all the necessary skillsets that you want to see, he just needs proper coaching.

The other one that could end up falling in Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm. Fromm is early similar to Drew Brees is that he is a pure pocket passer. Payton has had Brees for over a decade, Fromm would offer Payton a seamless transition, and with the right coaching, he could be the one.
