The No. 2 cornerback position was one of the most disappointing positions for the New Orleans Saints last season. They need to fix that

Eli Apple was in the running for biggest New Orleans Saints disappointments on the year. For the money that they paid him to come to the black and gold, he did not perform to their expectations and, in fact, far below.

Good thing is, Apple is in a contract year, so it is no sweat off the back of the Saints to let him walk in free agency. However, that was going to leave a gap at the No. 2 cornerback position opposite Marshon Lattimore.

When he went down in week 15, the New Orleans Saints signed new free agent Janoris Jenkins who was just released from the New York Giants. He filled in very well for what the Saints asked of him from week 16 through the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Now, the Saints are faced with the decision on whether they continue to pay and restructure Janoris Jenkins contract, do they target someone in free agency, do they use a draft pick on a cornerback, or do they try to trade for another top quality one.

There is no right answer, but one that could prove a good return on their investment is disgruntled Lions cornerback Darius Slay.

Here are three trade ideas for the cornerback looking to get out of Detroit.
