Vonn Bell could lead to an extra draft pick for the Saints.

Every year the NFL awards extra draft picks to teams who’s free agency goes awry. To qualify for a compensatory draft pick, you have to at least lose more unrestricted free agents than you sign in a given period, meaning Vonn Bell would qualify.

Losing Vonn Bell would add to the list of unrestricted free agents lost, giving the New Orleans Saints a higher chance at receiving a compensatory draft pick. Depending on what contract Bell inks with another team, that pick could be as high as a fourth-round pick.

We already know what the New Orleans Saints can do with extra draft picks. In fact, Vonn Bell is living proof of how the Saints always seem to draft and develop well. Extra picks would allow extra chances at potential star players.

I know this is not a hot topic and most fans would still like to see Vonn Bell back. In no way am I trying to discredit Bell for everything he has done with the Saints, I am just trying to help realize that it wouldn’t hurt that bad to see him walk.
