The New Orleans Saints have a few major needs heading into the 2020 offseason, but with major contracts expiring and not a lot of money to go around, the linebacker position may be the most necessary of them all.

That said, let’s dive into three players the New Orleans Saints should consider signing.

Number One: Cory Littleton

The Los Angeles Rams got a steal when they signed Cory Littleton as an undrafted free agent back in 2016. The six-foot-three, 26-year-old linebacker had a breakout year in 2019, recording 134 tackles, six tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, three-and-a-half sacks, two forced fumbles, four fumbles recovered, two interceptions, and nine passes defended.

Although that stat line is impressive, what may be more impressive is Littleton’s durability. Cory Littleton has yet to miss a game in his entire professional career.

His price tag is likely going to be a bit hefty this offseason; especially after having two consecutive years of insanely good productivity.

Littleton was a Pro Bowler in 2018, the same year he was selected to AP All-Pro Second Team. If the Saints are able to finesse a way around their current cap casualties, they should most definitely pursue a franchise linebacker such as Cory Littleton.
