Where could New Orleans Saints’ Teddy Bridgewater head this offseason?

Teddy Bridgewater is going to be a highly sought after free agent once the free-agent signing period starts on March 18, 2020. There are multiple teams in need of a reliable quarterback, and the following teams could definitely pursue the New Orleans Saints backup signal-caller this offseason.

Number One: The Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have multiple issues to resolve this offseason.

Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera was replaced by former Baylor head coach Matt Rhule and they will begin the rebuilding phase of the franchise. Despite the loss of a few key players, the Panthers still have Christian McCaffrey, Curtis Samuel, and DJ Moore to build around.

Pending a Cam Newton workout, the Panthers could look to replace their veteran quarterback and bring in a new star quarterback. Bringing in Teddy Bridgewater makes so much sense for Carolina. The Panthers struggled at the quarterback position in 2019.

Kyle Allen (who is a free agent this year) completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,322 yards with 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The Panthers also started rookie quarterback Will Grier a few games last season, and he completed just 53.8 percent of his passes for 228 yards and four interceptions.

The Panthers obviously need a guy who can take over the organization and they should look no further than Teddy Bridgewater who completed 67.9 percent of his passes while tossing nine touchdowns and 1,384 yards in 2019.

He led the Saints to a 5-0 record in the absence of Drew Brees in 2019, keeping them in playoff contention. The Panthers have 32.6 million dollars in cap space, and they also have the No. 14 overall pick in the draft.

Instead of trying to trade down to take a quarterback in the draft, they could sign Bridgewater and use the draft to fill other needs.
