A lot of questions surround Taysom Hill and the quarterback situation with the New Orleans Saints, but Hill is not ready to be a starter.

Taysom Hill is a great “quarterback” with a lot of upsides. The New Orleans Saints need to re-sign him to another contract. It is almost certain that Hill will also receive offers from other teams outside of the Saints.

However, Hill is a restricted free agent which means that the Saints have the option to match any offer that any other team offers him. If the offer is too high or ithe Saints can’t match the offer of another team, he is free to sign there, but if they can, then he will remain a Saint.

Simple as that.

It is obviously in the Saints’ best interest to keep Hill, but not because Hill is a future starting franchise quarterback. Hill is definitely a valuable and irreplaceable part of the New Orleans Saints offense, but he is not a franchise quarterback.

Last year, Hill only completed three passes for 55 yards in the entire season. However, he ran for 156 yards and a touchdown and caught 19 passes for 234 yards and six touchdowns. He is invaluable but not as a quarterback and here is why.
