Oklahoma, QB, Jalen Hurts

One of the biggest questions surrounding the New Orleans Saints is the quarterback position. All three of their 2019 rostered quarterbacks are free agents, and one of them might be retiring. In the best-case scenario the Saints sign back Hill and Brees and draft Hurts.

The best that the Saints could do is get Drew Brees back for another two years and allow Hurts to train under Brees to take over the New Orleans Saints when Brees ultimately retires. The ceiling Jalen Hurts has with Drew Brees is high.

Jalen Hurts was a pure running quarterback at his time in Alabama, but when he transferred to Oklahoma, they turned him into a passing quarterback. He is a better passer now than he ever has been especially with his accuracy.

The biggest con with Hurts is his decision making. Throughout the four years, we saw severe lapses in judgment that cost some big games. However, he does boast a huge upside in the new “version” of quarterback that Sean Payton likes to work with.
