Number Two: Kicker Garrett Hartley

Garrett Hartley joined the Saints in 2008 from the Denver Broncos.

He kicked for the Saints from 2008 until 2013 and set numerous NFL records in the process. Hartley made 16 consecutive field goals to start his career which was an NFL record until Kai Forbath eventually broke his record.

Hartley proved to be clutch in pursuit of the team’s first Super Bowl appearance as he nailed the game-winning field goal in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings in the 2010 NFC Championship Game.

That kick sent the Saints to their first Super Bowl.

Hartley became the first kicker in Super Bowl history to convert three or more 40 plus yard field goals in the Super Bowl. His performance helped lead the Saints to their first Super Bowl title.

The following season, Hartley signed an extension that made him the highest-paid kicker in the league. All the career milestones Hartley hit makes him the second-best number five in NFL history.
