Who are the top-three players that have ever worn the No. 5 for the New Orleans Saints?

The New Orleans Saints have had a slew of kickers and punters rock the number five for the squad in the team’s history, but the top three had exceptional careers in a Saints uniform.

Number One: Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater

Everyone should know who Teddy Bridgewater is at this point. Teddy Bridgewater has been on the Saints as Drew Brees’ backup since 2018 when the Saints traded a third-round pick to the Jets to acquire him before week one.

The former first-round pick has done nothing but learn and grow behind future Hall of Famer Drew Brees, and his hard work paid off in week two of the 2019 regular season when Drew Brees suffered a thumb injury and Teddy was thrust into the starting role.

Bridgewater started five games in 2019 leading the Saints to a 5-0 record while tossing 1,384 yards and nine touchdowns. Teddy Bridgewater is set to make a pretty penny in the 2020 offseason after proving to the entire league he can start and win games in the NFL.

Teddy has been a great team player for the Saints and helped keep the Saints in a great position for the 2019 postseason which is why he checks in as the best Saints player to ever wear the number five jersey.
