Number Three: The Saints will target a big-name wide receiver

The Saints desperately need wide receiver help to pair alongside Michael Thomas.

I could see the Saints releasing Ted Ginn Jr to free up a little more space to acquire a bigger name. Bengals’ wide receiver A.J. Green is slated to become a free agent and the Saints already tried to acquire him during the 2019 regular season.

A healthy A.J. Green paired alongside Michael Thomas would form a receiving duo that would be quite difficult to start.

Another guy the Saints could pursue is Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Odell has mentioned that he is unhappy in Cleveland, and who could blame him?

He was traded to the Browns to form one of the league’s best offenses led by second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield, workhorse running back Nick Chubb, and his sure-handed best friend Jarvis Landry.

The Browns ended up having an ego issue and new head coach Kevin Stefanski will likely move one of their stars. Odell grew up in Louisiana and would be a great fit in a Sean Payton led offense. One more guy the Saints could actively pursue is Vikings star wideout, Stefon Diggs.

Diggs showed his unhappiness in Minnesota and Kirk Cousins all season. Diggs also demanded a trade at the start of the 2019 season before Mike Zimmer managed to settle Diggs down a bit and get through the season.

Diggs would be a great fit in New Orleans, as he always seems to have big games against the team, especially in the playoffs.

Next. Three quarterbacks the Saints should strongly consider. dark

I fully expect the Saints to pursue a big-name wide receiver this offseason whether it be in free agency or the 2020 NFL Draft.
