The New Orleans Saints are typically about as dry of an NFL team as they come, but this offseason may be when the times finally start to change.

The Saints never really make blockbuster deals or tend to be very active near the trade deadline. The Saints tend to roll with their guys, through thick and thin. That said, let’s dive into three bold predictions for the Saints this offseason.

Call me crazy, but they are probably more accurate than any of us are comfortable with.

Number One: Drew Brees will retire

As tough a pill this is to swallow, it is looking more and more like Drew Brees will opt to retire this offseason. Brees has had one of the greatest careers in the history of NFL and really has nothing left to prove.

Drew has always carried himself with class on and off the field and has always been given the respect he deserves amongst his peers.

The future Hall of Famer currently holds all the major individual passing records in NFL history. Brees is reportedly enjoying his quality time with his family at home and coaching his kids as they embark on their football journeys.

Retiring now would make sense for the 13-time Pro Bowler as he is coming off a solid season where he seemed to be outstanding until the playoffs.

It would be tragic for Drew to be remembered in any other way aside from the clutch quarterback who led the Saints to many victories in his tenure. Seeing him decline in a much more mobile league would be heartbreaking. Drew should go ahead and hang up the cleats.

Opportunities in the broadcasting booth do not come very often and he should leap onto this opportunity while he can. Drew Brees’ retirement will happen eventually, why not let it happen now while the Saints still have tons of talent to surround whoever next year’s signal-caller will be.

As hard as it may be to accept, my first bold prediction is for Drew Brees to retire and hop in the broadcast booth for the 2020 season.
