The New Orleans Saints head into the 2020 offseason with right around twelve million dollars in cap space and a few decisions to make.

The New Orleans Saints undoubtedly need some help alongside Michael Thomas at the wide receiver spot, and the Saints are likely willing to go all out if they can find a guy who matches their desires. AJ Green could be that guy, and here are three reasons why.

The Saints Need Wide Receiver Help:

Despite what general manager Mickey Loomis thinks about the Saints wide receiver depth, it’s quite obvious to anyone who follows the beloved Saints that they need help in that area.

Michael Thomas dominated in 2019 winning the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award after a record-setting campaign where he hauled in 149 receptions for 1,725 yards, and nine scores. Aside from Thomas, no Saints wide receiver had more than 500 receiving yards in 2019.

AJ Green could come in and make an instant impact and create a duo that would take the NFL by storm. Green has had a productive career in Cincinnati where he has racked up 8,907 yards and 63 touchdowns to go along with 602 receptions since he was drafted fourth overall in 2011.

Signing AJ Green would help the Saints fill a major void at the wide receiver position.
