WayneMartin. player. . Defensive End. 1989-1999. 7. 15.

Wayne Martin spent his entire career with the New Orleans Saints playing in the defensive end role. Martin was severely overlooked for many accolades during his career, but this list did not overlook the efforts that he made.

In his eleven seasons, Martin started 155 games of 171 that he appeared in and if you take out his rookie season, Martin started 155 of 155 games the next ten seasons. He proved that he was one of the most durable linemen that there was.

He finished his career with 82.5 sacks and almost strung together six seasons in a row with over ten sacks. In terms of New Orleans Saints’ history, that ranks third behind just Rickey Jackson and Cameron Jordan who are both found later. He also added almost 600 tackles in those years.

Wayne Martin was one of the best pass rushers that the Saints have had and it showed. He also was able to snag one interception as well. Martin probably should have been commemorated with more Pro Bowls and maybe even an All-Pro nod.
