15. Scouting Report. 1971-1982. ArchieManning. 22. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. player

When you talk about Archie Manning, no longer do we hear about his playing days, just the playing of his sons Peyton and Eli Manning. However, Archie had a pretty stellar career of his own, even if it was overshadowed by his sons.

Archie Manning played 11 years with the New Orleans Saints before finishing off his career with Houston and Minnesota before retiring in 1984. He only played ten though due to missing the entire 1976 season with a should injury.

During those seasons, Manning threw for 21,734 yards and 115 touchdowns. He ranks second all-time in passing yards and third all-time in passing touchdowns for the New Orleans Saints organization.

He also added 156 interceptions in those ten seasons too. That is the second most in interceptions thrown in New Orleans Saints’ history. He also leads Saints’ history in most yards lost to sacks with 2,640 yards.
