Number Three: Trent Williams
Trent Williams has been one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL since his arrival as the number four overall pick in 2010.
The 32-year-old held out the entire 2019 season as he stated he was unhappy with the way the Washington Redskins handled his cancer scare and soon after demanded a trade from the team.
Since then, however, the Redskins hired a new head coach (Ron Rivera), fired Team President Bruce Allen, and also cut several people from their athletic training staff. Williams stated he would consider returning to the franchise if Bruce Allen was fired, and he was.
It’s unclear whether Williams wants to stay in the nation’s capital or not but the Saints sure could make room for the seven-time pro bowler. Ryan Ramczyk and Larry Warford are set to become free agents in 2021 and Andrus Peat is already a free agent.
Bringing in a guy like Trent Williams would sure up the offensive line and provide more depth at a position that proved to be unstable late in the season.
Williams could be a cheaper option as well considering he is 32 years old, and the Redskins are trying to find a suitable partner to trade with.
