CB, Bashaud Breeland

This is Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland’s sixth year in the NFL. He spent the first four as an underrated and never talked about Washington Redskin. He spent his fifth year with the Green Bay Packers as a backup cornerback. Now, he’s a Super Bowl champion.

The road might have been difficult, but he is just getting started. Breeland would hopefully be a cheaper option than some of the veterans the Saints have the option of signing. He is a starting-quality cornerback and could play perfectly opposite Lattimore.

In 2019, Breeland started 15 games and had two interceptions, eight passes deflected, two fumble recoveries one for a touchdown, and 48 tackles. Breeland became a force for the Chiefs being one of the most untargeted cornerbacks in the league.

Hopefully, because Breeland is on his third team and only on a one year contract for the Chiefs, that the New Orleans Saints wouldn’t have to pay too much money to put him under retainer. He would fit nicely under Sean Payton and fix one of the most problematic areas the Saints have.
