G, Joe Thuney (New England Patriots)

Anyone that comes from the New England Patriots can at least be considered well-coached. Bill Belicheck has surrounded himself with the top coaching staff. Because of that, most of his players are stars in their respective positions.

Joe Thuney is the same way. Thuney is a four-year guard out of North Carolina State that was drafted by the New England Patriots. Thuney is young and he is durable. Having just completed his fourth year, he still has a good portion of his career left.

The New Orleans Saints signing Thuney could be a long-term deal to replace Andrus Peat. In this last season, Thuney played 100% of the snaps in all but three games where he played in 92%, 95%, and 92% of the snaps in those games.

Currently, Andrus Peat cost the New Orleans Saints $2.8 million per year. Thuney is coming off of a contract worth $803 thousand per year. The difference is play is not equal to the difference in pay. If the Saints can get Thuney for just over $1 million that would be a steal to replace Peat.
