Sean Payton has been the heartbeat of the New Orleans Saints for years. If it was time for a change, who is your dream coach to replace him?

Sean Payton has consistently been one of the best coaches in the NFL for the last decade. Or has he? Payton won a Super Bowl for the New Orleans Saints in 2009 but in his 14 years with the New Orleans Saints, he has only had one Super Bowl appearance.

Sean Payton is a coach that deserves to be praised after making the playoffs is eight out of his 14 years with the Saints. In his first year in 2006, Payton even won the Coach of the Year award while Brees won the OPOY in 2008.

Out of those eight postseason runs, only one of them led to a Super Bowl appearance, and they won that Super Bowl. Five of the eight ended with a divisional loss, and two of the eight ended in the Wild Card, with the most recent being this year’s heartbreak to the Vikings.

Sean Payton also survived the scandal of the “bounties” in 2012, where he was suspended for the 2012 season. All in all, Payton has had a great run with the New Orleans Saints. The only other coach to have a longer tender with one team is Bill Belicheck with the Patriots since 2000.

This is not going to happen, nor would I ever want it to happen. However, if Payton were to be fired or relieved of duties, here are three coaches that would be a dream replacement for the star coach.
