The Saints desperately need help in the wide receiver position

Michael Thomas cannot continue to do all the work by himself in the receiving game. The Saints inked tight end Jared Cook to a two-year deal last season and he helped provide another target for Drew Brees to throw to.

Dez Bryant would definitely be a reliable, cheap option to add to the roster. Signing Dez Bryant to a one-year “prove it” deal would be risk-free and could potentially have a great upside.

Adding Dez Bryant to an offense that consists of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Jared Cook would be lethal. You don’t just find three-time Pro Bowler laying around. That said, Dez could also be a great mentor to any potential rookie receivers the Saints decide to add.

Getting a year or two to learn under Michael Thomas and Dez Bryant would be beneficial to any young receiver trying to transition into the NFL. Former LSU safety Jamal Adams said, “I’d take the field with you in a heartbeat” in response to a statement by Dez Bryant.

There’s obvious mutual respect around the league for Dez Bryant and he could possibly attract big name free agents as well. The Saints’ need of receiver help should be noted in regards to a potential signing of Dez Bryant.
