Donovan Peoples-Jones | University of Michigan

Donovan Peoples-Jones is a 6’2″ receiver out of the University of Michigan. Peoples-Jones had 47 catches for 612 yards with eight touchdowns in 2018 alone. Jones has the possibility to be a top receiver with the talent he displays.

Jones has elite explosiveness and a huge wingspan to accompany it. His 42-inch vertical and 4.42 40-yard dash make him a problem for opposing cornerbacks. Over his course at Michigan, his route running has improved and so had his top-end acceleration.

People-Jones has the same problem as Shenault and needs to get better as an off-ball blocker on non-receiving plays. He also needs to improve his yards after contact as he does not handle the pressure of making defenders miss easily.

Donovan Peoples-Jones would allow Drew Brees to throw the deep ball as Jones can breeze past defenders. Michael Thomas doesn’t necessarily give Brees that option. Therefore, Jones would make a great counterpart to a short-yardage receiver.
