Talent

Amari Cooper is a top ten wide receiver in the NFL. We already discussed that Cooper’s stats are top ten among the entire NFL. An acquisition of Cooper would mean two top ten wide receivers lining up on the same team.

That would end up being a nightmare for teams trying to adjust. Michael Thomas is hard enough to guard when there is no quality receiver next to him, but if you were to add in another threat that might be just as good as Thomas. That’s hard to defend against.

Cooper would also bring another veteran leadership to the offensive side of the ball. The talent he has in leadership are overshadowed by his stats. He is an offensive threat even on the sidelines while he is pumping other guys up.

Amari Cooper is also only in his 5th year, he still has his entire prime ahead of him and could offer that to the Saints. The talent alone is enough to bring Amari Cooper into the fold, but the need the Saints have makes it more important.
