Los Angeles Chargers at draft spot No. 6

The biggest uncertainty for the Los Angeles Chargers is that Philip Rivers is an unrestricted free agent going into this offseason. Rivers has had an excellent personal career, but in terms of team accomplishments Rivers doesn’t have much to show.

The Chargers could be looking to part with Philip Rivers and target a quarterback in the draft — that is why the Saints would need this pick if they get word that the Miami Dolphins are more interested in Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert or not a quarterback at all.

The Chargers also need a quarterback so there is the potential of the sign and trade with Teddy Bridgewater also working to the Saints advantage in this situation. The Chargers get a proven starter quarterback and the Saints get Tua Tagovailoa.

The Saints could offer the Chargers with the opportunity to get a quarterback in free agency or draft another quarterback later in the draft like Jordan Love from Utah State or Jake Fromm from Georgia are both excellent later round quarterbacks.
