This one hurts

I understand the frustration of three years of getting on the road we want to be on only to have our hopes dashed.

And I understand poor officiating has been a part of it for certain the last 2 seasons if not longer. But this wasn’t really about poor officiating.

It was a poor look for the city that fans threw things on the field at the officiating crew as they left the field. We must be better than that, Who Dat Nation. And in this case, we didn’t play like winners play. We were outplayed and we lost.

This one hurts bad for its own reasons. Last year, we played well enough to advance and it was taken from us.

This year our team overcame long odds and put together record-setting performances. Despite injuries, we seemed to be peaking at the right time. For those reasons, this one hurts worse.

Losing at home to a six-seed is tough. Tougher after tying for the best record in the conference and only missing out on a bye by one extra unfortunate loss.

Next. Are the Saints better off without Drew Brees?. dark

No, this one will hold an especially dark spot in Saints fans’ souls for being one that simply was given away.
