Sean Payton

Sean Payton’s play-calling and the game scheme were extremely below average for the future Hall-of-Fame coach. They let Kirk Cousins throw to anyone and everyone, and Dalvin Cook ran all over them in this game.

While Cook didn’t top 100 yards, he still ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the overtime win. Kirk Cousins also threw for 242 yards and a touchdown without an interception. The Vikings only had one turnover on the day and it was on the first drive.

Sean Payton is and should continue to be the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, that’s not what I am saying, but this isn’t the first time this year that the Saints have lost because Payton simply got outcoached by the opposing head coach.

He is going to need to fix some things on his end as we look toward next season. If Sean Payton can wrap up the mistakes, the New Orleans Saints could be a first-round bye team next year.
