Either Seattle and San Francisco will knock each other out.

Outside of the New Orleans Saints, the two most powerful teams in the NFC both play in the same conference. Because of that, the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers couldn’t have both been inside the top four seeds on the seeding works.

The San Francisco 49ers ended up with the No. 1 seed because of their win in the season finale against the Seahawks. That left Seattle as the best non-divisional winner and the No. 5 seed.

Now, if New Orleans beats the Vikings, Seattle will have to play San Francisco before one of them will have a chance to knock out the New Orleans Saints. Forcing them to play each other before they play the Saints will only weaken themselves before they get a shot at us.

According to the NFL power rankings, the Saints rank No. 3 to end the season behind only the AFC leading Baltimore Ravens and the NFC leading San Francisco 49ers. New Orleans is arguably one of the heaviest powerhouses in the playoffs this year.
