Michael Thomas

You might look at this name and wonder how he could ever be associated with players that need to step up. Michael Thomas is coming off of a historic season surpassing Marvin Harrison’s single-season NFL receptions record and almost hitting the receiver yards record as well.

Michael Thomas made history against the Tennessee Titans in week 16. He finished with 12 receptions for 136 yards and touchdown. That type of performance would definitely not land him on this list, but despite popular belief, Thomas has had lackluster games as well.

In week 17, albeit he might not have gone 100% because they demolished the Panthers, he only finished with 4 receptions for 37 yards and was held out of the endzone. If Thomas has a performance like that against the Vikings or any other team in the playoffs, it won’t be good.

The New Orleans Saints offense is centered around Drew Brees and Michael Thomas, hence the reason he finished the year with 149 receptions. He only recorded less than 10 receptions in a game in six games in the regular season.

If that Saints want a chance to beat the Vikings and take a shot at the Packers, Seahawks or 49ers, and Ravens or Chiefs, then Micahel Thomas will need to have 10+ receptions in every playoff game this year. That is just how the Saints offense works.
