Drew Brees retires as a New Orleans Saint.

The number of awards and medals won by Drew Brees throughout his time as a New Orleans Saint is undeniable. He has smashed the NFL and Saints’ organizational record books to be in the discussion of one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.

It is not often that players play most of his career on the same team and retires on that team without leaving. However, I think that is exactly what Drew Brees will do in the next decade. At 40+ years old, I doubt Brees has an entire decade left of play.

Elite historical quarterbacks like Joe Montana (Chiefs), Peyton Manning (Broncos), and Brett Favre (Vikings) all broke ties with their franchises to play one or two more years elsewhere before ending their career.

I think that Drew Brees will be more of the Dan Marino type quarterback and stay with the team he has given everything to until the day comes that he needs to retire. I could even see Drew coming back to coach for the Saints this decade after that day comes.

Drew Brees will go down in history as the greatest New Orleans Saint and one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game itself.
