The New Orleans Saints will be without Marshon Lattimore against the NFL’s best-receiving duo on Sunday, and it could spell trouble.

Marshon Lattimore, who is nursing a hamstring injury, will reportedly be watching from the sidelines. His New Orleans Saints will take on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers for the second time this season.

In the first meeting between the two divisional opponents, Lattimore’s play was of utmost importance. He held Mike Evans to zero receptions and just three targets. This season, Evans has three games of 180+ yards, and he’ll likely be seeking revenge against the Saints.

Eli Apple, with Lattimore out, will draw the challenge of defending the 6-foot-5 Evans. With Patrick Robinson and P.J. Williams alongside him, this Saints secondary may struggle without their leader in Week 11.

Robinson or Williams will be asked to defend Chris Godwin who averages one of the highest receiving yards per game in the league. Let’s just say after Week 11, we’ll understand the high value of having at least one shutdown corner.

Lattimore is just one of three high-impact Saints that will be unavailable for Week 11.

The Saints offensive line, special teams and secondary will all be at less than full strength this upcoming week. Against one of the most high-octane offenses, it could be a scary sight for Saints’ fans.

After coming off a loss to the then 1-7 Falcons, the Saints are preparing for the second of four straight divisional games leading into a Week 14 matchup with the one-loss San Francisco 49ers. They’ll need to win a few of these if not all three to keep the desire for a first-round bye alive.

Lattimore is considered week-to-week which means there is a possibility he misses Week 12’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers. This could be another huge development as a few more losses could open the NFC South up.
