The New York Jets have made Robby Anderson available, and as the New Orleans Saints are in need of a playmaker, he may now be the best on the market.

The New Orleans Saints are looking for another threat and are rumored to be one of the most active teams in trade talks. While many rumors swirling around are linking the Saints to Tyler Eifert, they may reconsider now that Robby Anderson is an option.

According to the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta, the Jets are willing to trade Anderson “at the right price.” Mehta noted that the team is in search of 2020 draft capital and, as it appears, aren’t looking to re-sign Anderson.

An unrestricted free agent following this season, Anderson is a premier deep threat. Anderson’s a week removed from an eye-popping Week 6 performance in which he totaled 125 yards on just five receptions.

He’s had games that make him look like one of the league’s best receivers. Yet, he’s also had a few duds along the way. That said, the only thing we don’t know is what the Jets are looking for in terms of draft capital.

We also don’t know what the Saints would give up for a player that may want more money than they’d be willing to give. The 26-year-old, if he knows his value, will be asking for a contract that’s over $10 million per year.

And, the Saints, if they’re smart, will let him walk. What’s a one-year rental worth for the Saints? Well, for New Orleans, the most they should give up is a third-round pick and even then they’d prefer not to give up more draft capital that’s above a fourth.

Anderson is a dream target for New Orleans, but as it stands, there are probably teams that’ll eventually one-up their offer. The Saints need a playmaker, but currently 6-1, they are going to break the bank for one.
