Alex Okafor, previously with the Arizona Cardinals, could be the smartest option for the New Orleans Saints at this time. The 26-year-old, despite injuries, was still very productive with Arizona when he was with the team. For a Saints team desperately looking for its compliment to Cameron Jordan, could New Orleans have finally found their answer? Let’s dive on in and analyze just how big of an effect Okafor had for the Arizona Cardinals.

The experienced edge rusher slowly became a dominant piece of the Cardinals puzzle despite lingering health concerns. Although he hasn’t played as many games as fans would like due to injury, Okafor has still been a dominant athlete when available.

In his tenure with Arizona, Okafor produced 13.5 sacks and 64 total tackles. It’s been shown that when healthy, Okafor can be a premiere playmaker for the team he serves, which just so happens to now be the New Orleans Saints. Now, how big of an impact will Alex Okafor make? Nobody knows, but at this point, the Saints will take what they could get, and in all honesty, Alex Okafor could be a solid option opposite of DE Cameron Jordan.

Could Alex Okafor be the veteran addition the Saints have been looking for?

The New Orleans Saints have desperately been looking for their solution to this prolonged issue, and the team may have just found it in Trey Hendrickson, or Alex Okafor, among others. With the team already making so many changes this past offseason in hopes of finally reaching success, it would be really nice to see the Saints defensive line become dominant again.

Who Dat Dish wants to know what you think! Who would you like to see start for the Saints defensive line?
