Saints’ Khiry Robinson carted off field against Giants
By John Hendrix
The first half of the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants game has been extremely entertaining. However, the Saints may have lost running back Khiry Robinson for the season, after a gruesome ankle injury.
According to David Chao, who handles orthopedic sports medicine treatment, Robinson could find himself out for the year.
The Saints have options to turn to in regards to signing players to fill the void. Tim Hightower is familiar with the offensive attack, and would seem like the most likely choice. I’d also give a good bit of thought to Pierre Thomas, who hasn’t been on a team this season despite tons of interest. We’ll learn more about Robinson’s injury in the next few days.
If you want some encouragement from this injury, the scene displayed by the Saints fans and players was absolutely breathtaking. It truly shows them coming together as a team. That’s something that was clearly missing last year.
Linebacker Ramon Humber, who was hurt early in the game, is questionable to return.
