Ravens @ Saints: Fantasy Football Forecast

facebooktwitterreddit

After two so-and-so performances the Saints will play a third straight home game. Let’s take a look at the most interesting fantasy matchups of the Monday Night Football showdown between the 4-6 Saints and the 6-4 Ravens.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

QB

Even if the Saints are allowing 18+ fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks Flacco is a risky start, NFL.com’s fantasy guru Michael Fabiano writes:

"Flacco had five touchdowns in one half (at Tampa Bay) in his last road game against an NFC team. In his five previous roadies versus the conference, however, he had a combined six touchdown passes and five interceptions. So while he might get you around 15 to 16 points in New Orleans, I see his floor being far worse than his ceiling."

RB

Justin Forsett is definitely a go this week:

"One of the best adds off the waiver wire this season, Forsett has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but three of his games this season. He should remain a fantasy asset in Week 12, as he goes up against a vulnerable Saints defense that has allowed an average of over 20 fantasy points per game to opposing runners in 2014."

WR

Steve Smith’s production has been horrid over the last few weeks but this is the perfect bounce-back game. He should get the start.

Torrey Smith isn’t a bad start either, per Michael Fabiano:

"Smith had a slow start to the season, but he’s scored double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games. In those five contests, he has scored a combined five touchdowns. This week, Smith is a nice No. 3 fantasy wideout versus the Saints on Monday night. Their defense has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to wideouts."

TE

Owen Daniels? Maybe next week:

"The Saints gave up a pair of touchdowns to Jermaine Gresham last week, but overall their defense has been tough on opposing tight ends. In fact, New Orleans has surrendered just three touchdowns to the position for the season. What’s more, Daniels has averaged just 55 yards with two scores in 13 career road games against the NFC."

K

Even if Justin Tucker only scored 8 fantasy points over the last  two weeks he could bounce back in the Dome: start him.

D/ST

The Bengals did a great job last week against Drew Brees and his offense but starting a defense that plays in New Orleans is not always a good idea.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

QB

Drew Brees. At home. In primetime.

RB

Baltimore is allowing the fewest fantasy points to running backs so start Ingram only if you have to. Pierre Thomas is officially listed as “probable” and I doubt he’ll get a lot of touches. Khiry Robinson is still out with a bad forearm.

WR

With Cooks out for the season Joe Morgan could be a nice add in deep fantasy leagues. Kenny Stills scored 25 fantasy points over the last four weeks and he could benefit from Cooks’ absence too. Colston’s negative trend is continuing and I’m not sure you can trust him anymore as a fantasy wide receiver.

TE

The matchup isn’t great but Graham is must-start each and every week.

K

The Ravens are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to kickers so think twice before starting Shayne Graham.

D/ST

Nope.
