Like the title of the popular song by the 70-80′s band Journey, it seems that most if not all of the sports writers in this country have stopped believing. It doesn’t surprise me that they have because no matter what the Saints have accomplished in past years they never got respect and maybe rightfully so since in all previous years the bottom always fell-out and they would finish the mediocre team that everyone said they were, but not this time. There will be no hold out for the Saints first round draft pick Patrick Robinson after he and the team agree to a five-year contract for an undisclosed amount just in the nick of time before the start of training camp. The Saints front office has just announced it has reached terms with two players, rookie draft choice Jimmy Graham and veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey. Graham, the Saints third round selection, was signed to a four year deal and is among the last of the Saints draft class to agree to terms. First round pick corner Patrick Robinson is the lone rookie left un-signed and is not likely to be under contract by the start of training camp. The FanSided family of NFL sites has decided to band together and create an All-Star team for each of the NFLs NFC and AFC division’s (North, South, East, West) with the players for each team to be determined by a vote by the lead writers of each team from each division. As expected the Saints front office has signed most of it’s 2010 draft class over the last few weeks in an effort to get all under contract and in training camp on time July 29th. Most recently second round pick Charles Brown signed a four year deal for an undisclosed amount after seventh round pick Sean Canfield, fifth round pick Matt Tennant and fourth roud pick Al Woods all agreed to four year deals of their own. The Saints front office is quite busy today as it was just announced they have agree to terms and signed rookie center Matt Tennant and released four undrafted rookies from the roster. Tennant was the Saints fifth round selection in this years draft and is the third rookie from the draft class to sign with the team in the last two weeks joining seventh round pick QB Sean Canfield  and fourth rounder DT Al Woods. In a bizarre move the Saints have re-signed left defensive end Bobby McCray who was released abruptly less than one month ago. The release seemingly came out of nowhere to blind side both McCray and fans alike after he had spent the majority of the Saints off-season running with the first string defense in replacement of Charles Grant. Alex Brown and Jimmy Wilkerson were free agent additions brought in to compete for playing time at LDE as well and the move to waive McCray was though to be more about a numbers game than anything else. Patrick Ramsey, a former first round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2002, has all but been guaranteed a roster spot with the defending Super Bowl champion Saints. It has been rumored that Ramsey had a “hand shake” deal in place with the Saints brass to join the team sometime before training camp starts the 29th, this after being invited in for a work out earlier in the off-season.
